As you swing your pickaxe at the walls, you’ll soon learn that tools in Core Keeper can break. Thankfully, you don’t have to build new ones every time.

Food in Core Keeper has two main purposes – keeping you alive by restoring HP and reducing hunger and giving you helpful perks like Em excesso armor or the ability to glow.

Glurch the Abominous Mass Glurch is, indeed, a large mass of slime. This boss can be found by digging down and to the left from the core. When you start seeing orange oozes and slime, you’re on the right track.

Killing Glurch spawns a chest with a few random items and a crystal. Take all of the items (and the chest!), then put the crystal in Glurch's statue near the Core. This will partially power the Core and open up a few new crafting recipes at the Glurch statue.

Once built, place the Crafting Table in a safe location to interact with it. This station is needed to get basic armor, weapons, and advanced crafting stations.

Next, we want to focus on getting Copper Ore so we can make Copper armor, weapons, and tools. Getting your hands on a ranged weapon is a must, too; some of the early-game enemies can hit pretty hard!

Once you find Glurch, you'll want to try to clean up the area near this massive monster. Pick up any slime tiles on the ground and kill any enemies in the area. Then, move in toward Glurch and start dealing damage.

If you’re playing with friends, it’s a good idea to choose different backgrounds to create a well-rounded adventuring party. Here are the currently available classes in Core Keeper and their starting perks.

Engaging and exciting, Core Keeper is a perfect example of development and creativity. In addition to keeping you completely glued to the screen, with 1.0 it dramatically increases the hours that someone could spend inside it, thus allowing the player passionate about video games of this caliber to lose track of time.

It all shapes up into a very inviting experience that teases dense design layers down the road. Even in early access, these feel like the raw Core Keeper Gameplay materials of a multiplayer survival sim that will draw an enduring audience. I can’t wait to see how it keeps growing.
